- On June 25 President Bush signed into law the Keeping Children and Families Safe Act of 2003, reauthorizing the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act as Public Law 108-36. CCD was instrumental in drafting language to address abuse and neglect of children with disabilities and to refocus the law on primary prevention activities. See a summary of the reauthorized law.
